A new Geek Couture craze is sweeping Comic-Con as fans don high fashion outfits inspired by their heroes. Rough cut (no reporter narration).
San Diego's Comic-Con may be world renowned for its annual display of Cosplay (costume playing), but a new craze is growing among convention-goers called Geek Couture.
The 'Her Universe' fashion show was held for the third year at the convention on Thursday (July 21) where budding designers were given the opportunity to show off their creations to the packed ballroom of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Designs are inspired by hit creations like Star Wars, Doctor Who or even Pokemon.
The show also acts as a competition between 27 budding designers.
The three winners - one picked by judges and two by the audience - get to have their designs turned into reality and sold through pop culture label Hot Topic.
Some of them have gone further, with one of last year's winners going on to work in haute couture in Milan.
